Hello! I'm Natalie and I'm so happy you are here! This blog is an outlet for my creativity and thoughts. Since I don't have co-workers to talk to, and I can only relate so much to my cats, I hope to fill that void with you! I have been on a break from blogging lately but I am so excited for new things to come. I'm a graphic designer, painter, sewer, and love all things handmade. Hang in there with me as I might post more about weddings than I should because our big day is coming up this summer! Thank you for joining me on this creative journey.

I figure since I work from home, I might as well have some assistants! I pay this girl in food. Arctic is sixteen and her role is to lay around, and lay around.

This is William Wallace. I swore off cats and really wanted a dog, but this guy showed up at our door last May. He roped us in by a severe injury to his leg and after that vet bill we had no choice but to give the guy a chance. Since, he's gotten into tons of trouble and really does live up to his name in the neighborhood.

Love, Nat Friends

I'm the modern day house wife. I have no children and no husband, but I do have a really fat cat (not her fault or mine) a wonderful, supportive PNC (partner n crime), lots of fabric, a sewing machine, paints and a computer to keep me really busy. I love to create, garden, lay in the sun (for hours), and I make lattes every morning. In the future, I'd love to have some kiddos to play with my fat cat, I'd love to live in the sunshine and I'd love to make a great living off of being creative. Not too much to ask right?! Easy DIY Christmas Wreath.

I'm sure you've seen these yarn wreaths all around the handmade internet world. They look simple and guess what, they are just that. It took me a few tries to achieve the correct felt flower but patience paid off. I ended up going online to find this video tutorial on making the flowers along with the wreath which really helped out.

I've really been missing our friends and family! With all this missing going on, a good old craft project really got me back into the holiday spirit. This wreath was so easy and worth the time. If you have any last minute gift giving, this wreath might be your answer.

If you would like to add a cute figurine to the wreath, try your local antique shop. I found 4 different deer figures for the wreaths I made. They were $3-$8.

Happy Holiday Crafting!

I love Instagram!

I can't get enough of instagram! I had Casey go on some back roads on our little outing last Saturday so I could get some good Instagram shots. Our first road we came across there were three little deer.

This was also taken that day of a mountain peek in Leavenworth.

I love this horse. We were looking at houses that day and this guy was out in the field all alone.

And this last shot was on a walk my Mom, Casey and I went on over the weekend around our neighborhood. Looks like Arizona doesn't it! Who would guess Washington State? Don't let the blue sky deceive you. Behind the camera we were bundled in layer after layer after layer. I've gotten used to the daily walks here. I just need two shirts, one sweat shirt, down coat, scarf, hat, gloves, long johns, jeans, socks, boots and I'm set!

Have a wonderful weekend. I hope you will enjoy some hot buttered rum or another delicious calorie filled holiday drink. Nog, maybe!

Gumdrops!

My friends Kennedy and her mom Tiffany made this adorable, yummy looking, gumdrop wreath. Isn't it too cute! I thought if you were in the mood for a easy holiday project, this is a perfect one. They ran out of gumdrops to complete the wreath but I think it looks great with the wrapped ribbon on the top.

What you need: gumdrops, toothpicks, styrofoam wreath, and ribbon.

In the photo of Kennedy up above you can see how they stuck a toothpick into the gumdrop then pushed the gumdrop with toothpick into the wreath. So simple.

Happy Holiday Crafting. Kennedy is so creative, next she is going to make snow globes! Can't wait to see those!

Blue Owl and Two Barn Owls Pillow Cover from UNITEDTHREAD

Such a great gift idea for a nature lover. Her archival print's are very resonable in price, all you need is a beautiful frame.

Thanksgiving for Two.

I am already hungry for Thanksgiving dinner! This year will be a little different, actually a LOT different for us on Thanksgiving Day. This year its just us. Casey is working that night so we'll have to celebrate on this side of the mountains. I'll miss our family but I'm going to try to make Thanksgiving just as special. I've been researching some recipes over at Martha that might not take too much time, or kitchen space and would be perfect for a dinner for two. I might have to cut some of the recipes in half like the stuffing and green bean casserole. Thought there might be some others out there that need ideas for a easier, smaller Thanksgiving.

Herb Roasted Turkey Breast Simple Stuffing Maple-Whipped Sweet Potatoes  Cranberries Green Bean Casserole Pecan Pie

All recipies from Martha Stewart

I hope however you are spending Thanksgiving, if its just two of you are a huge family dinner, that you have a wonderful holiday.

Fly Fishing.

I was never a sporty girl. My friends would call me velociraptor when I'd run. Picture that. I never played soccer or softball. Never a gymnast. I was made fun of in elementary school when we did the physical education tests and my hands only went to my knees when trying to touch my toes. But my Dad took us fishing all of the time and that sport I surprisingly liked. I'm not the best fly fisher woman, and I don't catch as many as my Dad or brother but I do enjoy it and to me that's what its all about. Fly fishing is a beautiful sport. Its nature at its best. We live close to the stream Rocky Ford. The trout are hatchery fish, hard to catch, but HUGE. We've gone there four times now and I'm hooked.

Don't worry, that fishy went back in the water!

I'm so happy there is a sport out there that doesn't involve running, catching a ball or throwing one!
