Fall, apple pie, spiced cider, hunting for the perfect pumpkin, layering BOHO style. I miss summer already but as long as it doesn't rain everyday, I'll be fine. A little over a year ago I made the move from Seattle to small town Ferndale, WA. My back ground is graphic design & tableware design. With recent changes in my lifestyle, the situation to create and work from home is suiting me just fine! I love to garden, sew, and cook. I'm the modern house wife without child or ring! But hey, I love my life! Have fun browsing around and hope to hear from you.

Get Pampered!

November 5th is my friend Arian's Grand Opening of The Sugar Shack, a full total skin and body care boutique. I highly recommend visiting the shack if you are in the Bellingham area. Its a fantastic shack with awesome products, beauty services, decor and of course people! Not to mention she is a new retailer for Love, Natalie.

What's plaid with vintage buttons?

New neck warmers/cowls as promised! Thanks again to Brittany, the mom of the three fairy princesses, who kindly agreed to model for me. We had a fun country/urban photo shoot. Grass fields, an abandon farm and ally way were the back drops for the shots. I love how they turned out! For more details, check them out at my shop.

I love how these cowls turned out. The plaid and vintage buttons make them so classic yet modern at the same time. Warm and cozy too with a thick jersey material on the back side. Hope you like the new addition to Love, Natalie. Happy Fall!

McCheeks Mayhem

I have to share with you McCheeks Mayhem's ceramic designs. Absolutley original and charming! The modern typography meets old fashion floral china motifs are what drew me to this talented designer. When old meets new, something special happens. McCheeks found that something.

To see more and read more about McCheeks Mayhem, visit her shop, blog, and website.

Inspiration, buttons.

I spoke too soon in my last post. Even though I have been trying to pump up my immune system with Vitamins, I guess it wasn't enough to fight off the raw sore throat, cough, sniffles, cold. So, I'm taken it easy and ready to share some recent inspiration. At a local antique store, I found this little zip locked bag of buttons in an old shoe box full of mix matched notions and everything in between. These gold, vintage buttons have inspired me to create some plaid neck cowls. While they are on their way, here are some of the buttons in the zip lock that inspired me. Gold and plaid are seeming to go great together!

Come to think of it, these would also look too cute on coffee sleeves. Also coming! I know, you are wondering when! Answer is, just in time for the holidays! I have been so busy working on custom orders lately but its in my plans to be adding more and more to my little shop. Happy Wednesday to you, and hopefully you are not attached to a box of kleenex and some cough drops like I am!

Time to re-charge.

Its that time of year when bugs are flying everywhere. I'm talking about those bacteria, virus, bugs. I'm talking about that H1N1 thing that has suddenly turned into a national emergency. At first I thought the media was blowing the swine flu out of proportion. But now I'm thinking, is this something we should be seriously worried about? When I told my Dr. I was sceptical of getting the vaccine, he looked at me like he was embedding the words into my brain, "YOU HAVE TO GET THIS SHOT, THIS IS NOT SOMETHING TO TAKE LIGHTLY." Okay, okay, when can I line up! But since there is a shortage of vaccines, and our local clinics have been canceled I guess I'll have to wait like most people. I think pumping my body with the essential vitamins will help. I always juice, and today I had to share the latest recipe I've been trying out. Its actually very delicious despite the swampy color! Quick tip, leave the skins on for extra vitamins and the hint of lime is very refreshing! For one glass, divide the recipe in half.

A day with Fairy Princesses.

Recently I met Brittany and her 3 girls Nyla, Keira, and Kennedy. I was so happy to meet someone my age here in Bellingham. In the last 2 years, friends have been hard to come by in my new home. And to find out Brittany is a designer was even better! She is the owner, stationary designer and more of Dolce Design. Running a house of 5, a successful business and to still be able to write a super savy design blog, I admire her! Yesterday, her and I photographed her three wearing the new scarves I'm adding to Love, Natalie. We collaborated photos and our editing skills to come up with some beautiful shots for my ETSY shop.

Thank you to Brittany, and the three Fairy Princesses for helping me accomplish exactly what I was picturing for my shop. A sense of wonder, wilderness, and fun, eclectic, fashion.

Envelop

While browsing Decor8, I saw this post for Envelop. What a genius idea, why didn't I come up with it? Envelop is an online store for illustrated cotton basics. Meaning if you have an illustration/design you would love to see as something functional, this is the place for you. Or if you love unique items for home, another place for you!

I haven't signed up for it yet, but would love to try this out myself. Sounds like your design will have to be approved first before it can be for sale on the website. To learn more about putting your designs to fabric or to purchase someone else's work of art you can see how it works here.

Some of my favorite designs I found:

1. Main chaude by Kerozen 2. United One by Pierpaolo Febbo 3. Bird of Prey by Sarah Palisi 4. The Messenger by Alli Coate 5. This is My Boyfriend by Julia Pott
