I'm the modern day house wife. I have no children and no husband, but I do have a really fat cat (not her fault or mine) a wonderful, supportive PNC (partner n crime), lots of fabric, a sewing machine, paints and a computer to keep me really busy. I love to create, garden, lay in the sun (for hours), and I make lattes every morning. In the future, I'd love to have some kiddos to play with my fat cat, I'd love to live in the sunshine and I'd love to make a great living off of being creative. Not too much to ask right?! Master Suite Style Board

Often I receive promotions in my inbox from the Paws Up Resort in Montana so often I drift off into a dream world thinking about a Montana life. Since nightly rates in the summer start around $2000 a night I decided maybe instead of dreaming about vacationing there, I could bring the Montana life to us. Few hours after that thought, a style board was born!

Paws Up Resort "Glamping"

1. Antler Chandelier 2. Through the Woods Knob, Fox 3. American Bison Collection 4. Black Bear Pillow 5. Moose Art 6. Antique American Dresser 7. Painted Antler 8. Native Quilt Pillow 9. Burlap Moose Pillow 10. Table Lamp 11. Art Block Set, Southwestern 12. Mint Green Night Stand 13. My Own Photos 14. Parlor Curtains 15. Southwest Rug

Looking at this style board now, its not too Montana ranch style, its more Natalie's Montana ranch style. We'll see how it goes. I bought the dark, velvety curtain fabric already from Joann Fabrics, and I have my eye on One King's Lane rug sales.

Loving making style boards but man, do they take a long time! Hope its worth it in the end.

Paper (Beer) Anniversary

Today is our first anniversary and what a year it has been. Its hard for me to believe how many changes have happened for us in this last year. We've had a good year. Traditionally for the first anniversary you are supposed to give each other a gift of "paper." We decided to go more our style and celebrate with gifts of beer and Mexican food. Leavenworth, which is about 20 minutes from where we live had just what we were looking for. Great beer at Icicle Brewery, and great Latin food at South

And to top off a perfect anniversary, We receive this beaut in the mail from my lovely Mom as our first year anniversary gift. I guess she didn't get the "paper" anniversary tradition either!

When I opened our gift from my Mom, I was a SOBBING MESS! Cub was looking at me like I was a CRAZY PERSON. It was a combo cry of loving the gift but deeply missing my Mom.

We love you Rita Pita! Thank you for the amazing hide!

River Luna

Happy Monday! I woke up this morning at 5:30 to make Casey breakfast and was so tired that I thought when he left for work Cub and I would go back to bed. Not the case. Coffee has kicked in.

The inspiring art of River Luna and a strong cup of joe are starting my Monday out on the perfect note.

Perfect note besides my pulsating, aching, painful sinuses. Life can't be too perfect!

Hope you enjoy River Luna this morning. I know her art puts a smile on my face.

Meet our boy.

Introducing Cub Dundas

Cub, formally named Kramer, is our new boy. He was a stray found in a remote location in Yakima. A kind soul took him in and tried to find his home but no one claimed him. Lucky for us! After a few months of looking on pet finder for a rescue pup, this guy came on Casey's radar. The wonderful people at the shelter called my vet and looked at photos of our house to make sure we had a fence and in no time they approved us as his new potential owners. Of course Casey wanted to go see him first before we made the decision to bring him home. As soon as they brought him out, tears were streaming. I couldn't help it. You know how emotional I am:) We took him out for what felt like maybe a minute, brought him back in the shelter and said, "we'll take him home!" Cub didn't stop kissing us. He seems to be loving life. He's added joy to our life already.

William Wallace and Arctic are warming up. Casey said it looked like "someone crapped in Willy's cerrios." One of many Caseyisms. Willy follows him everywhere now.

The vet thinks he's 5 to 6 months old which is amazing for how well behaved he is. The shelter said he looks like a terrier and Italian Grey Hound mix. We think Irish Terrier mix for sure.

Its been over 100 degrees here everyday! Finally cooling down to 97 degrees today. Have a great summer weekend!

Its Hot! Damn Hot!

This pretty much sums things up around here...

This is the time of year I wear my bathing suit at all times. I wear it under everything, sun dresses, tanks and shorts, sweats, it doesn't come off. My best friends can attest to the fact that I used to wear my swim suit under my work uni at the golf course I worked at. Yes, I wore my swim suit under my work uni. Please see the mother of all work uni's below.

Those two, Linds and Shannon were really excited to be wearing the sexy numbers after a long day of checking in golfers, making tee times and spacing hangers.

Yes, we looked like boys, yes, we were required to wear this uniform in the summer, yes, we were still hit on, not by anyone hot, mostly retired married men and a few wealthy Microsoft nerds in between. But, little did the golfers know, I had my party outfit ready under that amazingly sweaty uni. Triangle top bikini. Who needs under wire under all those layers.

I figured that I should be prepared at all times for summer fun. You never know when you are going to be invited to a pool party...

Or a lake party...

To my friends on the "west side," I'm virtually cheersing all of you with a margarita to summer fun!

Icicle Creek

Happy 4th of July everyone!

Yesterday, we met my Aunt and Uncle at their campsite. They camp every 4th of July at Icicle Creek outside of Leavenworth, WA. I decided to go up on prednisone last week so my sinuses would ease up and I could enjoy tasting food and smelling things like the pine trees during the 4th of July. My senses will disappear again when I go on lower prednisone amounts next week but for now, I'm loving it. I was able to soak in all of the sweet pine air on our walk through the camp which was heaven. I miss enjoying the taste of a fresh picked cherry or the smell of coffee in the morning. Its the little things in life!

The creek is roaring from the late snow melt but that didn't stop Dad from throwing a line in the river. No fish, but a beautiful instagram moment.

With my Aunt Essie and Uncle Tim. They have an amazing campsite. The ultimate "glampers!" They even have a shower tent.

However you are spending your 4th, yummy neighborhood pot lucks, family gatherings, fireworks shows or sitting around a camp fire, I hope its a good one. God Bless America!

Furniture Makeover

These hutches have been in Casey's life far too long so I'm thinking why not keep them around a little longer. Afterall, we are on a tight decorating budget.

And there is also this lonely chair...

And here is the other part of the lonely chair...pretty upholstry isn't it;) And that is Grandma.

Instead of black, why not a bright, not the obvious, only I would pick it, turquoise?

Because bright turquoise isn't gaudy enough, why not add some gold?

And there they be. I'd like to find a great peice of wood to use as a desk top to go in between the hutches and a really fun rug to ground the space.

Things are coming along slowly but surley around here. More make overs to come!
