I'm the modern day house wife. I have no children and no husband, but I do have a really fat cat (not her fault or mine) a wonderful, supportive PNC (partner n crime), lots of fabric, a sewing machine, paints and a computer to keep me really busy. I love to create, garden, lay in the sun (for hours), and I make lattes every morning. In the future, I'd love to have some kiddos to play with my fat cat, I'd love to live in the sunshine and I'd love to make a great living off of being creative. Not too much to ask right?! Teetering with the idea of Fall.

Today, I realized fall is on its way and its coming faster than expected. I noticed the lack of luster in my flower boxes, but the tomatoes are going from green to bright red. And that is a good thing!

I've been asked recently to create some fall inspired handbags. I have to admit this request has been hard for me to swallow. What do you mean FALL! Its not FALL! We're still in for some 80 degree days...right?! I think I have to come to grips with the fact that seasons do change and with them has to come some great things like pumpkin pies and savory meals. So, today I decided to ease into fall and started creating this fall inspired collection.

I went through my stack of fabric and came across this vintage one of mustard yellow and pretty little flowers. This came from my Great Grandmother's stash. I thought, well it has flowers on it, thats not fall. After a few minutes of pondering over colors and different selections of fabrics I kept coming back to the floral print and realized, since I'm "easing" into fall, why not add the bits of summer that are still left. All of the sudden fall doesn't seem so bad...

Let me know what you think about the new fall inspired bag.

The token western girl!

If you know me, you are fully aware that I have a like or love for the "cowboy" style. For those of you who do not know who the heck I am let me explain why I love it! The country classics of the west to me will always be in style. Raulph Lauren, I'm sure would agree! His collections seem to encompass the same American West favorites, denim, flannel, plaid, linen, leather and of course a crisp white tee, year after year. In my collections I feel like no matter how hard I try, everything seems to have that sort of American West feeling. What can I say? I guess I'm just a western kind of girl. Well without the token horse, but I do have the token cowboy boots!

Here is a little inspiration that inspired this cowboy Binkie Bib, currently on sale at my ETSY shop.

More Fall inspiration to come!

Photoshoot with Tessa Marie.

Yesterday was such a great time. I had the chance to photograph my handbags on an actual person! Tessa Marie Benson was my model and a continuing face for the Love, Natalie brand. She did such a great job presenting the bags. She is on her way to supermodel status.

Here is a preview  of some of the shots. I will be updating my ETSY site soon with these new bags. So stay tuned!

27 & 60 Candles!

Happy Birthday to us!  My Aunt Terri and I are both a year older today. I love sharing this day with her and today is a milestone because she is turning 60!

Here is my Aunt and I at Christmas time.

And I have to brag a bit about the gift I was surprised with this morning. When I woke up Casey had already left for work but on my work table wrapped up was this present! I love it so much. I can't wait to start my own little espresso shop here.

Come over any time for a shot. I'm heading out right now to shop for some yummy coffee beans and chocolate syrup (duh!).  And then I think I'll come home and make a birthday pie. After 6PM we're headed out for a weekend in the hot sunshine. I'll be home Sunday night.

Baby's Got Style!

The Love, Natalie onesies were featured in the "style" section in the Bellingham Herald on Sunday. Thanks Zoe for the great article. It is in my plans  to make some adult size shirts too. This is the first press for Love, Natalie so this was exciting to see yesterday morning.

My mom was here over the weekend. I took her to Boulevard Park in the South Hill Neighborhood of Bellingham. We went to Woods Coffee which is right on the water. Currently my favorite place to get my 16 oz iced mocha with half the chocolate.

Feeling Catlike.

The past few days in Ferndale have been sort of rainy and sometimes dumping down, but when there is that sun break for a few minutes I rush to shoot some photos. Shooting in the rain clouds does not allow for great shots. So today I saw my cat laying on the hot tub and I thought, wow, that is exactly how I feel. Dutches and I must me on the same page. I'm surprised she is as tired as I am, I mean she didn't paint an entire house over the weekend like I did...

My other cat Artic is always lazy. The only activity she gets is when she gets up to eat or walks two steps to the outside of the barn to catch some sun. I don't know where she got her laziness. It can't be from me!

Even though I've felt a little tired from all the painting over the weekend I managed to sew some awesome baby bags. Here is one of them. Jennifer came to the farmers market a few weeks ago and ordered one for her daughter who is expecting a girl. She requested purple. Purple is the theme of everything she's bought for the little one.

This is an over the shoulder bag.

The inside of the bag has 4 pockets on the inside and one especially for the bottle.

The back pocket is great for a cell phone and car keys.

Honeymoon Bag

This "honeymoon bag" was a special request by my Doctor. She wanted a custom, unique and personal design on a handbag to give to her nurse practictionar who she was throwing a bridal shower for. I have always loved the love bird holding a banner in its beak and I came up with the idea of their names in the banner with the date of the wedding on the back of the bag.  I hope you like the bag Sam!

I loved the idea my Doctor came up with and thought you would like it too! If you are interested in a custom handbag for any occasion or just because, let me know. I love creating custom designs just for you!
