Winery, Rodeo, Fishing, Driving, all in one weekend.
Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at 11:32AM This past weekend Casey and I went to Lake Entiat....again! What can I say, the weather is perfect, the boating and relaxing is a must and the company couldn't be better. Thanks to my Dad we have a great place to stay right on the river. I'm not sure if my Dad likes us as consistent house guests but when you live in paradise, your daughter will come! There are some great camping spots too. One is the Beebe Bridge Campground.
On Friday night we headed into Chelan which is only a few miles away to find a place to eat. We wanted some good food, thats all we were looking for. Every restaurant was packed in town so we decided to head out a ways and maybe, just maybe we'd discover a new place to enjoy. Just a few miles out of town we came across a lot of cars parked at the Lake Chelan Winery. We pulled in to see why there were so many cars, then we saw the sign that said BBQ, ribs and salmon. That was exactly what we were looking for. It was great. There was a band playing classic rock and kids rolling down the grassy hills. We were sat right away and served big hunks of corn bread. Won my heart already! We enjoyed a great meal and at a great price. I highly reccommend this spot to you if you are in Chelan.
After dinner we went to the Chelan Rodeo. It was a small town rodeo but fun to watch. The bulls stole the show. I felt for one cowboy who was knocked out by a bull he was riding. I think he is okay now.
The rest of the weekend we went boating with my Dad, fished, and had some killer fresh fruit milk shakes from Lone Pine Fruit and Espresso. They were featured in this months Rachel Ray for their famous pies too!
On the way home we took the North Cascades route through Winthrop which was quite a bit longer to get home but worth the amazing scenery. This is the most beautiful trek through Washington I'm sure. Lots of trail heads along the highway if you get up early enough you could hit one on the way home.
All in all it was a great weekend in Eastern Washington, right in our own back yard.
